If you're wondering what is the difference between our SSD shared hosting plans and our SSD multi-account (reseller) hosting plans, you're not alone! Web hosting terminology can often be confusing and mean different things to different providers — just like "Cloud" hosting, "SSD" hosting, "clustered" hosting all have different meanings or implications.

The primary difference between our SSD shared hosting plans and our SSD multi-account (reseller) hosting plans is the management interface. Our standard SSD shared hosting plans let you manage one or more websites (depending on the plan you choose), all from a single, unified interface. Let's say you want to host a personal blog, "mypersonalblog.com", and your business website, "mycoolshop.com" on a single hosting plan, to avoid having to pay for separate plans. Our standard SSD shared hosting plans would let you manage both of these websites within the same control panel interface, called cPanel (one of them would need to be chosen as the primary domain/website, while the other would be called an addon or secondary domain). The files associated with the addon domain would simply be located within a subfolder within your primary domain's main folder structure. There is no visual or practical difference to an end-user visiting either website, this is all just internally structured.

However, let's say you now want to sell your addon domain, "mycoolshop.com" to a third-party. Separating out your addon domain from your main website to provide direct access to the third-party only to that addon domain is not easy. A manual file (and database) transfer would be necessary, and some settings may be lost or have to be reconfigured.

In contrast, the SSD multi-account (reseller) hosting platform is specifically geared towards separate and independent accounts for each website/domain you want to host. It's just like buying multiple SSD shared hosting plans, except you have an additional control panel to manage these separate accounts, called WHM. This interface lets you create as many separate, distinct accounts as permitted by the package you've selected, but also let you go in and out of each account's cPanel with ease and without having to remember separate login information. Have a third-party you want to transfer "mycoolshop.com" to? Simply grant the third-party the access credentials to manage only that account, and you can continue to manage your other sites without them ever interfering and no configuration changes necessary.

SSD multi-account (reseller) hosting are an ideal platform for marketing or advertising agencies, web developers, even other small web hosting providers to be able to manage multiple users independently of one another, while still being able to perform certain functions on a global scale. While you could purchase multiple SSD shared hosting plans, it is often much more cost effective to just choose a SSD multi-account (reseller) hosting plan that gives you an additional unifying interface.
